About this event

Costs: $7 Day-Use/car).

Fuller Lake is located
miles from the intersection of Bowman Lake Road and Hwy 20 about 30 miles from Grass Valley. Take Bowman Lake Road off Hwy 20. Fuller Lake is stocked with rainbows and has native brown trout.  Nice sized holdover browns are not uncommon.

We will meet up at the far point in the Day-Use Area (keep on going past the dam to the far end of the lake.)  The Day-Use area is a fee area ($7/car) with BBQs, toilets, and a small launch ramp.

Fuller Lake is perfect for float tubes and kayaks.  We avoid weekends at this lake since the recreational use is often heavy. Small boats with motors are allowed but there is very limited parking for boat trailers and lake has a 10 mph speed limit. The fish are easily spooked in the clear water so the smaller the floatation device the smaller the shadow cast on the weed beds and bottom.
Note: The water is very cold. Waders are required since wet-wading can be dangerous.

Fish for:

Planted rainbows and browns as well as large holdover browns.

Fishing Strategy:

Use still water techniques in very clear and relatively shallow water, i.e. long leaders and light tippets.

Recommended Gear:

What participants need to know:

This is a beautiful little lake within a one-hour drive of Grass Valley.  No potable water is available in the day use area. BYOB, snacks or lunch.
