Fish-out venues

Important Fish-out Details:

New fish-out events where participation is limited. To give every club member the same chance to sign-up, the fish-out committee will post these fish-outs on Tuesdays with registration starting at 6pm. The fish-out committee will also send a “heads-up” email to all members in advance of the date when registration opens.

Fish-out calendar. The fish-out committee will try to calendar fish-outs 2-3 months in advance of the events. Note, for some fish-outs, registration may be delayed for several days after the event is visible on the club calendar.

Fish-out Venues. On the website go to Blogs / “Fish-out Venues” to see basic details about past and future fish-out venues. For each location, this provides all members with valuable information: Directions to site, Fishing Strategy, and Recommended Gear. No need to wait for a fish-out, just find a fishing buddy and go!

Wait listing. If you are waitlisted and receive a notice that a spot has opened, you must respond within 12 hours from the date and time of the email.

Beginner fly fishers. All fish-outs are suitable for beginner fly fishers unless otherwise stated in the basic information about the event. When registering for a fish-out you will be asked if any assistance, instruction or equipment is needed in order for you to attend.

Fishouts are the what the GCFF club is built around, going fishing. Our members volunteer to organize and lead fly fishing trips to many of the best fishing spots in Northern California and Nevada. Spots like Davis Lake, Pyramid Lake, Frenchman's Lake, North Yuba River, Lower Yuba River, and more.

Note: In order to participate, you must be a GCFF member, have paid your dues, and have agreed to GCFF Hold-Harmless Agreement (HHA). During registration, you will be required to agree to this agreement.
